Festival Sprint

Ever wondered how long it takes you to run 30m? Race your friends, climb the leader board and record your time at the Athletics ACT & Little Athletics ACT Sprint Zone. Participation is completely free, making it a great way to pass time for spectators and kids during and after the event.






Relax on Saturday to a blend of blues, roots and grounded folk by Pambula Beach’s Jack Biilmann, and Sunday's live music will be provided by guitarist Russell Vincent.



Kids Activities

Thanks to The Gecko Gang, there’s fun for everyone at the Australian Running Festival. With face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon modelling and a jumping castle available, the kids will be busy for hours.


rebel Warm Down

Relax and unwind post-race at the rebel Warm Down tent. Head on over for a stretching session in the festival village using PTP equipment after you finish the run to help prevent injuries and aid recovery.



Bethany Larsen

Bethany is a Canberra-based Radio Personality, MC, socialite and blogger. You can hear her weekdays from 9am – 12pm on Hit 104.7. She is also part of a Canberra-based weekend breakfast show ‘Seedy Saturdays with Taylor and Beth’.

On the weekends you will find her bringing fun and excitement to different activities across the city, attending all the must-go-to events, and of course documenting it all on social media.

As well as loving her social life, Bethany has a huge passion for health and fitness and will often be seen at Canberra’s biggest fitness events, or running up Mount Ainslie on an early morning.

Matt Harris

Matt has been commentating endurance events such as triathlon, ocean swims, marathons, fun runs, obstacle racing & cycling events throughout ASIA & AUSTRALIA for the last 16 years. This will be his third year commentating at the Australian Running Festival.  

Matt has also completed a number of marathons, fun run, triathlons & ocean swims. Raced at the hawaii Ironman 3 times (1995, 1998 & 2015).  

A passion for keeping fit and active. Matt strives to be his best self, while trying to look at the positive side of life. Supporting others to fulfil their hopes and dreams is also high on his agenda.

The Canberra Times Massage Tent

Wind down and relax after your run with a free massage on Sunday April 15 at The Canberra Times Massage Tent! Open from 9am to 2pm.



Commonwealth Games Live Screening

In celebration of the Commonwealth Games, we will  be screening the Games live from our Event Village throughout the weekend.  

Come on down and watch Australian Liam Adams, 2017 winner of the Sunday Age City2Sea presented by Westpac, attempting to take the Marathon title on Sunday April 15. Let’s go Aussies, let’s go!

Ziggys Fresh is one of the oldest fruit market stores in Canberra and the longest running fruit and veg store at the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets. Grab a banana after finishing the race from Ziggys Fresh.
